Loses/Find Story

                    Lost life

I could not believe it. It happened that afternoon. Why me? That afternoon I was just back from the centre. The door was open and as soon as I got in I saw everything like a disaster. But most importantly, my jewelry was gone. Thousands of dollars gone.
I broke into tears. But after a few minutes I got myself together and thought a little. The first thing I needed to do was to call the police and tell them what had just happened. I got the phone and called the station. When they came in to check everything that was missing, they help me realize that not only the jewelry was gone but also a few electronics. I didn't really cared about those so much. "We'll call you as soon as we found something." And those words from the officer actually help me to calm myself.
Three days had passed and I was still hoping for "that" call. You maybe think that is just normal jewelry but its not. The jewelry is the equivalent of my retire money. I was hoping to sell them as soon as I'm not able to work anymore. I'm 74 years old by the way. I ran into depression a day after the event happened. It was just too much for me. So many years gone. What was I suppose to do?
I was about to burst into tears once more and the phone rang. The only thing I wanted, was the police at the other side of the phone. The same voice that helped me calm myself the first time, was on the phone right now. I was crying again. But this time for joy, the jewelry was back. I could not believe it.
