Catcher's questions Chptr. 4

1.- Holden and Stradlater are friends. Even though they bother themselves a lot with little insults and by wrestling, they care about each other enough to make each other's homework (Holden) and to do things as telling girls things when they can (Stradlater).
2.- Holden's reaction when Stradlater says her name is quite shocking. He didn't even believed what Stradlater had just said. She was one of Holden's friends, almost the only person he didin't considered as a phony.
3.- He said he wasn't in the mood to do it and that he would do it later. He really wanted to, but he cound't conceive the fact that she was there.

World Vision: Evangelical Christian and humanitarian organization for development.
World Trade Organization: It pretends to create a better trading system
United Nations: It keeps peace around the world.
Greenpeace: They protect the diversity of natural life.
European Union: Economic and political organization formed by 28 members, located in Europe.

1.- They bring ideas and promote the projects to hep the global issues and in most cases they also help the country's independent project to make it bigger.
2.- Because as big as they are, the support they can give is a lot.
3.-Stop pollution, protect the diversity of natural life and the atmosphere and pursue a nuclear-free world.
4.- Because they are things that a country's government doesn't have the time to worry about.
5.- Because they want to keep their independence.
6.- The success relies on agreements and cooperatino between the conflicting parties.
7.- By creating this protocol to monitor greenhouse's gas emissions, and reduce the global greenhouse effect.
8.- Because their economy could fell.
9.- That countries could refuse to accept it.

Catcher's questions Chpter. 1-3

1.- Holden star lying quite a lot because he didn't wanted Mr. Spencer to know about being kicked and all. Yes, half of the time.
2.-  The comment is suppose te mean the you are suppose to follow life's rules, such as school. Holden acts like if he agrees, but he really didn't.
3.- Yes, because both of them are teachers that try to help the main character, in this case Holden.
4.- Because he thinks there are too much phonies, such as the headmaster.
5.- That he often acts like a 12 year old kid, even though he's 17. The other one means that he rather lie that get into a stupid trouble, in some way.
6.- He wants to tell what a good liar he is, but how bad it is to lie. He lies about agreeing with someone and often about places he has to go, but just to avoid some situations.
7.- That reading makes you smarter in some things such as literature and culture. So being illiterate would be the exact oppossite.
8.- He thinks Ackley bothers a lot and he calls him a phony. But he considers him as a friend after all and in a way he cares about him.
9.- According to Ackley he is egocentric and thinks he is better that everyone but according to Holden he is a good roommate and quite simpathic.
10.-Feeling sorry for something is for when you don't reaaly know the thing or person too much. Caring is a bigger feeling, more for friends and people you know.
11.- That depends on your point of view. As long as you dislike the person in any sort of social way, you could think he is a phony. So it depends on how the reader associates Holden's point of view with their own.

Ans: No, because the queen doesn't have any authority in the government.
2.- What house is most relevant? The Upper house (House of Lords) or The Lower House (House of Commons)? What is the role of each house?
Ans: House of Commons: 650 members that work together on the Parlament. House of Lords: people that inheritate their possition and don't influence the Parlament at all.
3.- Who are the main political parties?
Ans: Conservatives, Liberal Democrats and Labour.
4.- Why is Winston Churchill one of the most relevant political figures?
Ans: Because  he is one of the most inspirational leaders in history and also because his two finger salute.
5.- What were Churchill, Thatcher and Blair nicknames?
Ans: British Bulldog, Attila the Hen and Bush' poodle.
