The text on pages 84-86 focuses on a real person´s speech, which makes it sound authentic. It also shows the style of the related person, which shows the research done.
2. Be knowledgeable:
"I was accused of being biased toward my hometown."
"You may accuse me of propaganda and poor journalism."
3. Keep it relevant to Anglophone culture.
Michael Moore is totally relevant to the Anglophone culture. All he does is related to explore the correlation between media and violent acts in the U.S. Even one of his book covers has a big U.S. flag.
4. Know the right conventions for the text type:
 I think the author of the sample text was familiar with this type of text, the speech. He probably investigated and research other speeches before this one.

Technology Story

So after an exhausting day on France, we were about to reach the top of the Eiffel Tower. Well, at least to the highest point for people to go.
I was so excited. I've been waiting all day for this moment. I was a little bit worried because I left my camera on the hotel room and I had no cellphone. I knew Mark had his cellphone with him so he would take the photograph we needed.
After reaching the top, I asked Mark to take me the photograph so he took his cellphone and got ready to take it. The cellphone suddenly fell from his hand and slip towards the side and fell of the Eiffel Tower.
He was shocked. He almost throw himself off the tower to catch it. But obviously he did not.
By the time we got to the ground we saw it and a  least it didn't fell on somebody's head or something. It was destroyed completely.After all this we just went to a store and looked for someone who could fix it and we really spent all the afternoon trying to find someone.

Graphic Novel Activity

Panel 1: back-to-front.
In the first panel, objectively there are two adults chatting in the background, in what it seems to be a living room with a rug hanging on the wall. A boy seems to be hiding by a staircase listening closely to what the adults say.

Panel 2: back-to-front.
You can see a kid standing by the staircase, with a curtain the background, seeming mad about something. He is wearing baggy clothes and he is facing the person in the front of the panel. On the front there is an adult smoking a pipe. The adult smoking a pipe has a long beard and he seems impressed by the kid

Panel 3: front to back.

The kid in the front starts running and he is crying a lot. He seems to be running from the adults. In the background of the panel an adult is yelling at the boy telling him to wait while the other adult doesn't seem to care too much about what is happening.

Panel 4: back-to-front.

The scheme is in the outside of a house and a boy just came out from the front door. He is looking to a another kid in the front of the panel that is swipping the ground with a broom next to an adult that is also swipping the ground.

Panel 5: flat view.

A panel representing parenthood in which you can see a kid and an adult who seems to be taking care of the kid that seems worrying about something while the adult keeps him from walking. The adult has a short beard  and wears baggy clothes .

Panel 6: flat

A kid running seems to be holded back by an adult running towards the kid that is also running. He is telling him that he's father didn't meant something and the kid interrupts him saying that he 'knows it's for his mother'. The kid is running towards the fence which is probably the exit of the house.

Panel 7: flat

A tall seeming adult with moustache and long hair is talking to th kid in front of him. The kid is looking at him while the adult holds his head and asks him why is he talking about the kid's mother. The adult seems worried about the kid.

TCITR graffiti task

Universal theme: Family
Title (chapter): The chapter 21 emphasizes important aspects of the theme "family" because Holden returns to his parent's house and he wanted to see his loved sister pheobe, This represents love and unity. It is true that Holden doesn't want to be discovered by his parents, but the love between brothers is a fundamental aspect of the family. It is important to understand the the love and unity is only between Holden and Pheobe, otherwise, he would want his parents to notice him.

Character: Holden learned that his sister was more matured thanwhat he thought, and that his brother was coming to Christmas this year. He at first don't accept his family and says he hates his family and he says that there all phonies except phoebe, but then when he realize D.B is coming home for christmas he kind of change his mind. Also when Holden arrives to his home, he found the place so familiar and he liked that and he starts to miss his home.

Point of view: The narrator point of view is very special, in this book Holden is the narrator and in chapter 21 he explains his point of view about his family and his home. He first thinks the lobby boy it's stupid and thinks "you have to say something nobody understands and they will do anything you want them to".

Then he get to his family apartment and goes to his brothers room where phoebe was staying he thinks she very mature and neat for her age and he sees her copybook then he wakes her up she hugs him and Holden thinks " she's very affectionate for a child".

Pheobe tolds him D.B is working on another movie " that goddamm Hollywood" thinks holden , Holden says he hates holllywood but i think he misses his older brother.

In conclusion Holden express that he care about his family through critics. But he really love his family.

Plot:
1.- There was a new elevator guy in turn, so he could easily past through by saying he was going to another apartment.
2.- He went into the apartment not feeling drunk anymore.
3.- He went to Phoebe's room but she wasn't there. She had slept in D.B.'s room.
4.- She was sleeping there.
5.- He looked around looking at the room
6.- He woke her up and she yelled and hugged Holden.
7.- He asked for his parents and for D.B.
8.- She freaked out when he told her he had been kicked from Pencey.

Symbols:
1.- "Our foyer has a funny smell that doesn't smell like anyplace else".

Essay

Since the people started creating machines, the environment has been affected. From the first motorised car to the airplanes we learned to build some decades ago. The real concern that people have is whether this advance will damage the environment around us. I will examine arguments for and against this topic and draw a conclusion based on the facts.

According to the Santa Clara University, our planet is affected by almost all of the most used energy sources, that is why we should start to rely more on renewable energy sources. People are criticising that the humanity should use more natural renewable sources of energy because they do not damage the environment. In order to advance in technology and sciences to improve people's standards of living, we don't need to harm the environment given that with our renewable sources, the damage we are creating is null. We just need to use a way to create machines within better technology, because the energy they use is not so important.

Secondly, there are too many ways to improve the standards of living.
In order to improve the standards and not damaging the environment we must find the ways that do not involve non-reneweable resources of energy, like fossil fuels.
Ways like using nuclear energy, which accordimg to the UFNPA, a whole nuclear plant creates as much waste as desktop sized box. Furthermore, the technology being used nowadays is starting to rely more on energy sources for their studies, which in the future will diminish the percentage of pollution worldwide.

However,according to the Library of  Economics and Liberty's website, before the industrial revolution, which increased the percentage of pollution, the standards were pretty bad. And after all the fossil fuels and the machines to get them were invented, the standards of living of the people increased.

On the other hand, all the pollution that was produced at the time should've  been diminished if the people had realized that it would create as much damage to the environment as it is known now.

All things considered, the way humanity has to diminish the percentage of pollution is by relying more on renewable sources of energy as much as in the nuclear energy. This way the damage to the environment will be near zero while the improvements to the standards of living of people are being studied and increased. With the use of this types of energy, the environment will be safe from pollution and the standards will improve

Summary: This article show us that the energy that we are using not only brings benefits, but is also damaging the environment. Nuclear energy is shown as a potentially dangerous source of energy, but that brings enormous benefits because it doesn't produce greenhouse gases and the amount of waste is small compared to how much energy it produces.

Summary: The article explains how much the standards of living increased when the industrial revolution took place. The  point that it doesn't show us is how much the environment was being damaged while the humanity didn't noticed it. Even though the advances in science and technology they made were a lot, the damage made is impossible to recover.

Gladiator

Commodus leaves the arena. He goes to where his throne is and sits. He is mad and angry, so he starts yelling.

Commodus: Adviser! Where are you?!

The adviser appears running into the emperor's chamber.

Adviser: What's happened sir?

Commodus: I just gave a thumbs up to a gladiator, but he wasn't just a gladiatr. he was Maximus Meridas, the old general of the army.

Adviser: What is he doing as a gladiator? You should've killed him, why did you gave him a thumbs up?

Commodus settles on the throne.

Commodus: Because of the croud. They were all yelling at me to do it and I wasn't going to say no. I can't just kill him and expect everyone to be calm. They like him. 

Adviser: You should get rid of him before anything happens.

Commodus: And that's exactly what I am planning to do. 

The adviser thinks with his mouth opne and stares at the emperor.
